Summer in Chicago would not be complete without outdoor concerts and festivals, and this past weekend, my family treated me to one of the greatest birthday presents I could have wished for…tickets to see David Foster live at Ravinia. For starters, one of my favorite American Idol singers is Katherine McPhee whom recently got engaged to David Foster, so when I got the news I was going to the concert, I was praying she would be there too. Lo and behold, She was. If your not familiar with Ravinia, it is a festival property only open in the summer. There is a seating pavillion and also tons of picnic space where people bring food, wine, tables and chairs and enjoy live music.
Well, David Foster has produced and written songs for so many of my influences and idols like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Richard Marx, Bryan Adams, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble and Josh Groban, and one of the greatest bands of all time, Chicago!!
I’ve posted a few pictures here, and I have some videos I can post soon too. The highlight of the show was when David walked into the audience looking for volunteer singers. I had my fingers crossed he would pick me but it didn’t happen. One girl sang Over the Rainbow, and Katherine McPhee actually went on stage with her to sing along…Maybe next time David if your reading this….Pick me Please…enjoy!!
